March Roadtrip
Sunday 18 March 2007 - 13:12:48
It has taken me a day to recover to write up the last roadtrip. Getting older I tell you.
The usual suspects headed over to Canberra for a ride on Friday. The only two new things were that Brett took his car and Buster came along for the first time. Hilly, who lives in Canberra, met us at Gunners. We were worried about the rain a bit but tried our luck again and it worked out.
Gunners was fine as usual but as you have guessed from above there was a skater worthy of our praise there. He was ripping into the bowl and trying front flips out. Mad as to watch and he had no fear. A bit like Buster who ripped the Spine straight up and then 4 to 6 10 seconds later.
Everyone had a fat time there and it is a good park. No casualties so then we headed to Weston for food and park. The close-knees were at Weston and we were lucky it rained and they left for the cars for a while. We kept riding and just had fun fly-at and the boxes. Buster was launching and Josh having fun manualing the boxes. The wide-bars came back so we hit up Tuggers.
The gates were locked and some scraggers were locked in but the park was empty when we first got there. Buster and Brett went the Spine and I think Ryan avoided it again. Some MTB riders showed up and then we almost had some carnage with a Asian street gang...bit of an over exageration but anyway.
Civic was next and it was OK. The street riding was a bit more comprehensive this time and we avoided the white car with lights just at the right time. Not content we went to Belco but didn't ride too much. This was at 2 in the morning and most of us were trashed. All in all a mad ride but funny with out Mick and Johnny.
