The players were a mix of old and new. Heading up the old boy's was the "Energizer Bunny" Hilly. True to form he was on the spine at Gunners before we could even turn the Van off. He had traveled over in his ute with offsider Wilson making his first trip. Two other vehicles with Jeremy, Hendo, Brett, Bobby, and Jesse Hill had also made the trip.

The Van was packed with Brady, Bushy, Luffy and Mat with myself wondering how good is this. Grayson, Caitlin, Jack, and Dayne had arrived as well making the touring party at 16. Man that is a lot of people at one park so of course we had snaking and clashes straight up. Stand outs were Mat busting the spine both ways having not even ridden there before and Luffy booting the bowl to hip sweet. Brett stepped up finally and after casing once, found his rhythm soon enough. We blasted until dark and had Matt Haskins rock up with some sweet stickers made especially for RidinBmx. Props to him and if you ever need Sign work done he is the man...
Weston was called at dark.... and was it getting dark. You needed infrared goggles to get around. Caitlin and Jack kindly went and ordered pizza while we all greeted the locals and checked the lines. Bushy started to find his feet on the hips and Hilly and the ole boys got comfortable with the boxes. I found the transitions sweet and started to air a bit...great feeling. The trains started as we all realized there was so many people at one park. Brady ran in to me at the hip as I went high and he took the low road...Could have gotten real messy but we had a laugh about it. Some randoms spooked us with coming out of the bowls across the trains but nothing the music pumping from the Tarago couldn't sooth.
How funny was that with Mumsy setting the park on fire with ACDC blasting from the Van while the kids were riding. Cool Mum... Again the notables were Mat airing the Bowls so high and ripping the hip. Jack Grayson was style on the hip and Luffy was pushing it too. Hendo kept surprising me when he joined in on the rolls, given he has had only limited time on the bike... Bobby was pulling sweet X Airs as well. A big shout goes to Caitlin for the Camera work. She parked herself at good location and the flash going off added to the vibe like you would not believe.
Time to hit Tuggers and to be honest we didn't want to leave Weston. It was defintely a great thing we had there that night. After playing on everything I saw everyone was rolling different parts of the park. I hit the vert wall to jump out and surprised Hilly who told me we didn't used to do that. Oh well I got away with it and he and some others did too. Mat tried the spine but was a little slow at it and ate concrete. Hopped up and kept going. Hendo and Wilson landed their first Disasters at the mini and you couldn't keep the smile off Patey all night. Downside at this time was Mat launching a trick I haven't ever seen anyone do before. Tried to hop the bricks to skater roll-in but clipped the wall with his rear wheel. He rode it down the roll-in enough so that he could gather enough speed to really get ejected. His shoulder and body got slammed into the base of the transition and it looked pretty bad. Serious stack that has him wounded with some mad bruises and a rib that is lodged under his collarbone into his neck. One tough kid that will ride again but needs some time to lick the wounds. Get better soon Mat from everyone.....

We bailed from Tuggers to Civic but the booners had been with glass and the lights were failing. Grayson ripped up some good air with heaps of speed...in the dark!!!!! We doodled around but the park was not at its best so off to Belco we went. Poor Mat was dragged along but we had a bit more fun at the spines and that crazy bowl. Bushy and Brady did some mad velodrome work in the doughnut. We were all spent though and left Canberra not long after.
I have to say the sess at Weston and the way everyone stepped up was mad. BMX at it's best for sure.....can't wait for the next one.
Thanks everyone for coming and making it such a special night....
